Erasmus students from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Italy, Spain and Portugal began their Erasmus+ mobility for studies for the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv.

The Orientation Days, organised by the International Relations Office, once again helped for the easier adaptation of the students to the new environment.

The International Relations Office welcomed the incoming students on September 29 at Compass Lecture Hall. They were introduced to the history of Bulgaria and Plovdiv, the structure and activities of the University, the learning conditions and the rules for staying at the dormitories, as well as the opportunity to sign up for Bulgarian language courses at the university. Erasmus coordinators and their representatives also attended the meeting as they provided the students more details about the educational process and the respective faculty schedules.

The International Relations Office experts showed the guests around the university buildings, libraries and centres.

The Orientation days continued on September 30 with a tour of Plovdiv’s city center and the Old Town. The students got to know more about the cultural and historical legacy of Plovdiv as well as the main administrative checkpoints which they may need to visit during their mobility.

Soon, the IRO team will organise a short day-trip which will allow the students to explore the richness of the Plovdiv region.
