Students from Spain, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia have begun their studies under the Erasmus+ program at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv for the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year.

For the first semester, 13 students have arrived at the university, some of whom will study here for the entire academic year, while new participants will join them in the second semester. The students will be enrolled in the Faculties of Biology, Education, Economic and Social Sciences, Philology, Chemistry, and Law.

At the start of these mobilities, the International Relations Office organized orientation days to support the international youths’ adaptation to the academic and social environment. They were introduced to the history of Bulgaria and Plovdiv, the university’s structure and activities, study conditions, and housing options in the dormitories.

Faculty Erasmus coordinators explained details regarding the educational process, class schedules, and academic requirements, while the international office team presented the main buildings, libraries, and learning centers. The students were also familiarized with key administrative institutions in the city that could be useful to them.

The orientation days concluded with a one-day trip to the town of Hissarya, which is one of the largest archaeological reserves in the region and in Bulgaria.
